What is this medicine used for?
This medicine is a combination drug and is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain.

How is this medicine taken?
Follow the directions that your doctor has given you, these are printed on your prescription bottle. It is advised to take this medicine with food, to avoid upset stomach.

What if I miss a dose?
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.

How is this medicine stored?
Store at room temperature in a tightly closed container. Keep away from heat and light.

Are there side effects?
The most common side effects of this drug are, dizziness and drowsiness, nausea, vomiting and constipation. If you experience other side effects that are bothersome to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Are there precautions with this medicine?
If you have had a severe allergy to codeine, hydrocodone or oxycodone, talk to your doctor before taking this medication. If you experience, chest tightness, difficulty in breathing or swallowing, swelling in the face or lips, go to the doctor immediately and stop taking the medication until you have talked to your doctor.
Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine. Alcohol can have added side effects such as drowsiness and mental clouding.

Can I take this medicine with other medicines?
Yes, but let your doctor know if you are taking a medication called Ritonavir. Avoid this combination. If your are taking a drug for seizures(carbamezapine), let your doctor know. Cimetidine (Tagament) which is now available over-the-counter can increase effects and side effects of this medicine. Antihistamines and sedative medications should also be used with caution because of the additive drowsiness effect.

General Information:
Do not take over-the-counter products that include acetaminophen (Tylenol). If your are not sure which products contain acetaminophen ask your pharmacist. Too much acetaminophen can cause liver damage, when taken in large doses, especially if you drink alcoholic beverages daily.
